How viable is charging a Tesla Model 3 given Pakistan’s limited EV infrastructure?

: Public charging infrastructure in Pakistan is still very underdeveloped, with few functional fast chargers and uneven geographic coverage.

How does this affect Model 3 owners, particularly for long-distance travel? What are the risks around “range anxiety” in Pakistani cities, and how do electricity load‑shedding o r grid constraints further complicate charging?

Pakistan’s public EV‑charging network is still very limited. EV makers themselves have raised concerns about the “slow development of charging infrastructure” especially outside big cities.

A recent EV‑charging tariff policy cut electricity price for EV charging has been introduced.

This helps, but even with the lower cost, there aren’t yet enough fast chargers o r a dense enough network for reliable long-distance travel.

The instability of the electricity grid, including load‑shedding, is also a risk: EV owners need to rely heavily on home charging, but outages o r voltage fluctuations can make this challenging.

According to forums / local Tesla‑owner discussions, many rely primarily on home charging setups and plan meticulously for long trips because public chargers are inconsistent o r far apart.

Implication / Risk:

“Range anxiety” is a real concern in Pakistan. Without many reliable fast chargers along highways, long trips are risky.

To own a Model 3 practically, you’d likely need to invest in a good home charger and possibly a backup power solution to make daily use feasible.

The lack of Superchargers means you’re stuck with third-party charging, which could be slower, less available, and not always Tesla‑friendly.
