Idle the Engine in Cold Weather?

Idle the Engine in Cold Weather?

Salaam guyz.

Uh, I was just reading somewhere that the engine of a car shouldnt idle in cold weather. Actually, Im in ISB and winter stops by once a year unlike KHI, lol. So, in the morning, I idle the engine for 5-7 mins cuz the temp.meter is down below " C ". So I have been told the car wont perform and respond as sharply as compared with a warmed up engine.

So, question is, should I idle the engine to bring the mark 30 percent up from " C " on the meter, or just press the pedal to the metal as usual when Im seated in the cockpit of a nice car with a warmed up engine, ready for something...

Yeah, give your so called expert advise :-) ;-)

old cars need to be idled, modern cars don't need ot be idled but, you should drive them gently till they are within their ideal operating temperaure.
