Info required regarding chipped ecu(p08)

Help required from experts

Dear all i have bought a chipped ecu(p08) which was running on H22 TypeS, the motor im running is H22A, my question is that is it possible to tune it according to my motor?coz the person from whom i bought said that it will be plug and play but my mechanic told me that its not possible and u have to chip it again because the H22 typeS and H22A are two different motors. Experts please suggest what should i do? should i return the ECU or its easily rechipable.
