Information About Auto Transmission

Guyz I want to ask tht in auto tranmission there are
P(parking),
R(reverse),
D(drive),
D2(???),
D3((???),
options but dnt know about the purpose of D2 and D3.

Plz guide me so tht we make use of them as they are useless for me.
I have Honda civic 2002 prosmetic

D3 means that u r left with a 3 speed forward transmission instead of 4. It is used where u need good car control. ur top speed will be 165 only in this mode but u wont get in 4th gear giving u advantage of engine deceleration at high speed braking. it can be used at high speed but tight roads e.g Abbottabad jatay huay:-)

D2 means u r left with 2 gears only i.e 1st and 2nd. thats usually the case in all the cars. However, in a Civic, D2 doesnt mean 1st and 2nd. Rather its only 2nd gear and can be used comming downhill for better car control!
