Information About Automatic Cars?

hi guys Salam to all of u.
I have got Honda Civic prosmatec 2005 model and I was wondering if I could use D2, D3 on the column and treat it like a stick shift without the clutch? You know start in D2 then D3 and D for the highway. Would it be bad for my engine/ transmission to keep doing that? Or should I just leave it in drive and let the computer decide when to shift?

Likewise can I do the same with Honda City Vario i-e shifting it from D to S mode and vise versa while I am driving the car?

You can do that but you have to keep an eye on the rev/speed limits prescribed in the car's manual so that you dont overdo it and by the way the "S" mode in City is a totally different thing.
