Is GTTi / GTXX a problematic car ?

As salaam o alaikum.

Heard that its very difficult to maintain GTTi's original engine. That's why people swap the engine so much instead of getting it repaired.

Is there any truth in the matter - is the "original" GTTi / GTXX really a problem car? Are there any other major issue (other than engine maintenance) ?

Thats not a reason i kept a GTti with its original Cb70 engine and it used to be head to head with 20v blacktop and it had no problem at all but any turbo car needs maintenance ..main problem is parts of that engine are not available here and everyone go for swaps because of parts availability and performance. GTti engine was unique in 1.0 category but if someone want more power then 4efte is best for charade.
