Is High Oil Consumption Normal for a New Changan Karvaan?

New Changan Karvaan units are sometimes seen consuming more oil than expected. Should owners be concerned if their new van requires top-ups after just a few thousand kilometers?

Some new Karvaan units consume oil during the break-in period, but if it continues beyond 2,000–3,000 km, its not normal and should be checked. Early wear o r factory defects could be involved.
