Sometimes, I hear a faint grinding o r clicking sound when shifting between gears—especially from 1st to 2nd. The sound is not very loud but noticeable. Is this a normal sound from the DCT transmission, o r could it indicate a worn component o r early mechanical fault?

Some users hear subtle clicking o r grinding noises during gear shifts, particularly 1st to 2nd. While this isnt widely reported for the X7, similar noises in DCTs can occur due to clutch pack engagement o r gear synchronizers

Recommendations:

Have a service center inspect and listen for gear o r clutch pack noise.

Check for software updates—some shift quality issues can be fixed via TCU firmware.
