Given the variable fuel standards in Pakistan, could low-octane o r contaminated petrol be contributing to misfires, rough idling, o r sputtering?

Yes. Pakistani petrol often varies in:

Octane rating lower than claimed.

Additive quality and contamination with water o r dirt.

High sulphur content, which affects fuel injectors and oxygen sensors.

Low-octane fuel can cause pre-ignition o r knocking, leading to hesitation o r sputtering, especially in engines tuned for 91 RON o r higher.

✅ Tip: Use high-octane petrol Hi-Octane / Premium once a month to clean the system and reset trims.
