In some workshops, cheap o r incompatible power steering fluids are used during service. Could this lead to long-term damage in the steering system?

Yes, in many local workshops, mechanics:

Use cheap, incompatible fluids

Overfill o r underfill the reservoir

Skip flushing old fluid

This leads to:

Pump failure

Seal damage

Hard steering o r whining noises

Always insist on using manufacturer-recommended steering fluid, o r at least high-quality alternatives like ZIC, Kixx, o r Caltex.
