Is poor throttle response o r sluggish gear shifting in the DCT transmission causing fuel inefficiency in the Alsvin?

Many users complain of laggy acceleration. Could this be forcing the engine to work harder, thus consuming more fuel?

Yes. Many users complain of:

Throttle lag, especially from a standstill

DCT behaving like a CVT at low speeds hunting for gears o r stuttering
This results in higher engine loads, poorer fuel economy, and jerky starts, especially with AC on.
This points to software-level calibration issues in the DCT’s ECU map.
