Many excessive oil consumption issues stem from faulty PCV systems. Is this a known weakness in Alsvin’s engine design?

This is a likely contributor. A faulty PCV valve can allow oil vapors o r even liquid oil into the intake manifold, where it gets burned during combustion.
Several owners report engine smoking on cold starts, a classic PCV-related symptom. However, Changan has not officially recalled o r revised the PCV design. Periodic inspection and cleaning o r replacement every 30,000–40,000 km is recommended.
