In some units, the wiper motor o r arm tension is weak, which prevents uniform pressure across the windshield. This results in poor blade-to-glass contact, especially near the edges. Combined with hard o r worn blades, the system often fails to clean thoroughly. Some owners have had success by replacing wiper arms with compatible higher-tension arms from other vehicles.
