Is the alternator belt o r tensioner in Changan Alsvin failing prematurely o r causing improper charging?

Squeaking sounds and low voltage could point to belt issues. Are poor-quality belts o r loose tensioners part of the problem?

Yes. Problems observed:

Belt squeal on cold start o r rain indicates either slipping o r low tension

Tensioners sometimes develop play o r wear before 40,000 km

Result = intermittent charging, misdiagnosed as alternator failure
This is why it’s essential to inspect belt tension and condition every 10,000–15,000 km.
