Is the MG HS suspension too soft for Karachi o r Lahore roads? Causing tyre damage?
Ive noticed that the MG HS suspension feels too soft, especially when driving over speed breakers and potholes in cities like Karachi and Lahore. Sometimes the tyres hit the edges hard, and I’ve already had two sidewall punctures in 6 months. Is this a known issue with the cars design o r tyre selection? Would switching to stiffer suspension o r different tyres help reduce damage on Pakistani urban roads?

Yes, the MG HS is known for having a comfort-focused soft suspension setup, which may not suit rough and uneven urban roads in Pakistani cities like Karachi, Lahore, o r Rawalpindi.
Problems Caused by Soft Suspension in Pakistani Conditions:
The car bottoms out on speed breakers o r when carrying passengers in the rear.
The soft suspension allows excessive vertical travel, causing the tyres to hit potholes and sharp bumps hard.
This leads to frequent tyre sidewall cuts, bulges, o r rim damage.
Why It Happens:
The suspension is tuned more for European roads, not for Pakistan’s irregular speed bumps o r broken roads.
The tyre size/profile also plays a role — MG HS uses low-profile tyres usually 18-inch, which offer less cushioning.
Recommendations:
Switch to tyres with stronger sidewalls e.g., Michelin o r Bridgestone.
Consider slightly higher profile tyres if you dont mind a small speedometer variation e.g., 235/55 R18 instead of 235/50 R18.
Drive slower over speed bumps and potholes, especially when fully loaded.
If your city has very rough roads, consult with a suspension expert for stiffer aftermarket shocks o r coil spring upgrade.
