Reports of small chips and exposed metal at door corners and bumper joints raise concerns. Is it due to poor surface preparation, o r lack of protective rubber mouldings?

Yes, the Changan Alsvin tends to develop paint chips in high-contact zones like door edges, bumper corners, and the lower rocker panels. These chips often expose the bare metal underneath, leading to premature rusting if left untreated. The underlying cause seems to be poor surface preparation before painting, including weak primer adhesion. Furthermore, Alsvin lacks protective features like rubber door edge guards o r thicker plastic cladding that are standard in other cars. This makes it more vulnerable in tight parking spaces, where frequent opening of doors o r brushing against concrete walls can chip the paint quickly.
