Japanese Alto vs. Pakistani Alto: Which Offers a Smoother Gear Shift?

Japanese Alto vs. Pakistani Alto: Which Offers a Smoother Gear Shift?

Im curious about the driving disparity between the Japanese Alto and the Pakistani Alto, particularly regarding gear shifting.

Im aware that these cars employ distinct transmission technologies, yet Ive heard claims that the Altos gear changes can be jerky. Im eager to know if this holds true for both the Japanese and Pakistani versions. Is the gear shifting experience and overall drive smoother in the Japanese Alto compared to the Pakistani counterpart?

Kindly provide insights, as Im considering purchasing a Japanese Alto!

Thank you.

JDM models are available in both AGS and CVT variants. The top-of-the-line JDM version features AGS, which is comparable to the Pakistani model. Its a superior choice compared to CVT due to better mileage, despite occasional jerky shifting. On the other hand, CVT offers smoother shifting but lags in mileage and power delivery compared to AGS, especially given the modest 660cc engine.
