Letter to Honda for Warranty Coverage
Letter to Honda for Warranty Coverage
Dear all,
Last year my manager bought new shape Honda CiViC VTi Oriel Prosmetec Transmission after my strong recommendation.
Now there is a problem. We contact Honda dealers and also fax them in Lahore.
but they havn't respond yet. I am pasting here the letter with some changes.
And yes there is NO CNG in the car.
On 17th May, 2007 we purchased Honda Civic VTI Oriel (Prosmatic). The vehicle has covered 28,554 KM as on 22 April 2008 and still falls within warranty period which is 50,000 KM or 2 years which ever is earlier.
On 21st April, 2008 we found that the vehicles pick have reduced significantly and its performance decreased. We took the vehicle to Honda Classic, Islamabad workshop and asked them to fix the problem under warranty.
Honda Classic was reluctant to handle the vehicle under the warranty. We were told that the following two parts would be changed:
Catalytic Converter for Rs. 36,850 and
Sensor Air Fuel Filter Rs. 10,400
However, after discussion they agreed to repair the vehicle without any charges to us. The vehicle was handed over to Honda Classic on 21st April, 2008 for repair.
On 22 April 2008 Honda Classic Warranty Manager, while handing over the vehicle, told us that the Catalytic Converter of the vehicle was chocked and therefore they had removed the same. We insisted that this should have been replaced under warranty instead of removing an important function. Honda Classic told us that it would not effect on the performance of the vehicle and therefore is not required. We asked for a written report on the issue to take up the matter with manufacturer unfortunately the warranty manager told us that they were not allowed to issue any report on this matter. However, on our insistence he mentioned on the invoice that Catalytic Converter chocked has been removed.
We certainly do not accept the argument of Honda Classic that Catalytic Converter is not required. This we treat as negation to the Honda Atlas Pakistans Environmental Policy.
We therefore request you to kindly advise Honda Classic to place Catalytic Converter in the vehicle under warranty. Furthermore, we do not appreciate the way this issue was handled by Honda Classic, Islamabad. Honda has an international repute as a superior brand; the dealers must be selected and asked to provide services commensurate with the brand name.
I hope that our request will be entertained on merit.
Thanking you.
Now my manager wants to contact Top Manager of Honda Atlas, Pakistan.
Any body can give me the direct contact number of the top manager there at Honda?
What to do now?
How to replace this Catalytic Converter under warranty?
Do help, guys!

i dont think that the cat converter is covered under warranty as its a wearable part and it got choked so early because of the poor fuel quality.. this i sone way of looking into it..
but so many others are running hte same fuel in the same enviroment so the real problem is that beecause of the faulty "Sensor Air Fuel Filter"( i think you are talking about o2 sensor), improper fuel ratios due to this faulty part may led to cat converter....
