Mechanical Problem In Civic

Hi Experts,

Need your help. I have just bought a VTI 2005. Single hand driven by a Doctor almost 72000 Kms. I'm facing a problem whenever I release the clutch the car takes a slight jerk. I have tried my level best to eliminate the human error in releasing the clutch which normally causes the car to take a jerk, but even with my utmost care the problem still persists. Even my other experienced friends have taken its drive and they are facing the same problem. Secondly, the pick of the car is also not upto the mark on petrol. (Although its giving me an average of only 8/9 Kms per litre on long).

Also want to clarify that tyres, spark plugs and air filter all are OK as I have replaced the old ones with new ones and the other performance of the car is well done. No extra sounds from engine, no heating up, have run it upto 170 Km/Hr on CNG for almost 1 min without any problem or noise.

I need to know what might be the possible cause of these problems.

I'd put my money on the fuel filter. Chances are the Doc never got it replaced, and at 72K on the odo, shes just beggin to squirt it all out! Other than that, i'd just make sure the battery is in good nick as well. Believe it or not, but a weak electrical system can make a very noticeable diff in performance and smoothness of a motor. And while your at it, make sure the TPS gets a whiff of WD40 just to put the odds in our fav. Let me know what you come up with after your done with the above. Cheers!
