Mechanics in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Mechanics in Islamabad and Rawalpindi

The main problem these days is finding the right mechanic to work on our precious cars. There are people who have opened up auto workshops with no clue of what they are doing and are screwing their customers of money and the cars.

In this topic kindly relate your experience (good or bad) with workshops in ISLB/RWP vicinity so other members know where to take their auto to get fixed and what mechanics to look out for.

I will start with mine.

I have a Suzuki Margalla that had noise coming from the CV Joint. I took it to several mechanics they said to replace the boot on it. Finally, I took my car to AutoFix in I-9 (direction give below) who also said to replace the boots. Well with the final decision of spending thousands of rupees (parts and labour) I said go ahead and change it. When the mechanic opened the boot he told me not to worry its merely a clip that needs changed. The guy only charged me 150 Rs. for labor and the clip. Phew. Its good to know that we have good mechanics in Islamabad that do not con people of money. From then on I have been taking margalla to that shop and they have been quiet helpful on making crucial decision on my car. He even suggested not to sell my margalla as the new cars have really weak body.

AutoFix is located on the service road in between H-9 and I-9. It is right behind the car wash on that road. There is also a mechanic next to it. DO NOT GO THERE!. They con people of money. That guy charged me 100 Rs. just to clean the spark plug! Go to AutoFix and talk to the headmaster (not the owner) of the workshop. He is a little chubby guy with a mustache. Sorry do not have there phone number.

If you need further directions to their shop you can call me at 0333-3090610. I am no way related to these guys. Infact he probably doesnt know me by name, he just knows me through my car. ?

(y)....nice to hear nice comments.

By the way, what kind of noise was coming from the CV joint? If by any chance the clip is loose or missing, the grease tends to leak out from the CV joints, causing them to run dry and weakening the joint contacts..........Did he fill the joint with grease? or was it all ok?
