Mixing high-octane with supreme petrol

Guys i have heard from many people that one should mix 2 - 5 ltrs high-octane with normal fuel to increase fuel efficiency and performance of your car.

pls tell me is there any technical logic behind it or its just a myth

its 100% true.. I've experienced this formula... once I got my cultus refuled with full tank and I mixed almot 10 litres of high octane.. I felt a bit difference in drive + better acceleration...
