“My Haval Jolion won’t start after it’s been parked overnight in Karachi – could the battery be the culprit and what should I investigate?

I live in Karachi and I use my Haval Jolion mostly in the evening drives and sometimes leave it parked overnight for 12‑16 hours. Recently I noticed that if I return after the next morning, the battery is dead clicking o r no crank whereas a jump start works and the car runs fine afterwards. I’ve checked the battery terminals they seem O

This symptom is very suggestive of a battery o r charging system issue, o r of a parasitic drain whilst parked. Here’s how to approach diagnosing it and what to watch out for, especially considering your context in Karachi.

Diagnosis steps:

Check the battery state right after the no‑start condition: Measure battery voltage first thing in the morning. If it is far below ~12 V say ~10‑11 V o r less before you try to start, that means the battery has drained overnight.

Attempt a jump start: If jump starting works and the car runs fine afterwards and everything seems normal while driving but fails after overnight sitting, the issue is likely drain o r insufficient recharge, not necessarily the engine/starting motor.

After start, measure charging voltage while driving: With the engine running check voltage at battery terminal—if it’s 13.5 V consistently then alternator/charging system may not be working properly.

Park load/parasitic test: With key off, doors closed, locks done, wait a set period for example 30 mins after you stop driving and measure current draw from the battery. If it’s significantly above what the manufacturer indicates many cars ~30‑50 mA, then something is staying “on” infotainment, alarm, module, tracker.

Inspect after‑market accessories: If you have an aftermarket tracker o r audio system o r ambient lights that remain powered when car is off, these could drain the battery overnight.

Check battery age/condition: If the battery is old 3‑5+ years o r showing low capacity voltage s quickly under load, it might not hold charge overnight.

Check environmental/usage patterns: In Karachi’s heat, parked in shade o r sun matters. If you park in full sun the battery may heat up and degrade faster. Also if you only take short drives, the battery might not receive a full recharge cycle.
