NAVIGATION system / TV Compliance????
Hi there ppl,
We see that a lotta imported cars are coming with TV / Navigation systems. My queries are as follows
1. If a imported car is fitted wid a Trakker, is it possibel that the navigation system (that comes with the car ) be made compliant with the navigation services offered by local companies (PAKistan)
2.Is it possible to tune local free to air channel .i.e. PTV etc..
on the TV avaiable in the car?
InshAllah I'll shall soon be getting a vehicle with such gadgetry and am also getting trakker installed.
I remember some company (in khi) offers navigation systems but with thier own systems......I would be releived if I can use the nav system of the car by just getting the services and software(fom the trakker company) and using the vehicle's own nav sytem and TV....
Cheers

Honda offered the new civic with satellite navigation and tracking system. But they had an LCD screen (non-color) installed in front of the front passenger!?
I guess you could ask the tracker companies whether they can acccess the system on the import vehicles. As far as I know, the data can be uploaded via the DVD-ROM that comes installed with the system in most import vehicles.
However, it is dependent upon the company as to what information they have for our cities for the navigation to work.
You might face a language problem with the menus in Japanese unless the company can reprogram to the system to display/narrate/instruct directions in English.
