Need Assistance with Auto Transmission Valve Body Removal
Need Assistance with Auto Transmission Valve Body Removal
Is there anyone who can assist me in removing an auto transmission valve body? Ive been struggling to find a proper video guide that demonstrates the process clearly. I did manage to find a video, but it wasnt very helpful. The multitude of bolts on the valve body is making it confusing for me, and Im unsure which ones specifically need to be removed for the removal process.

Okay, first things first, find a flat spot to park your ride and disconnect the battery. Now, grab a jack and raise your car off the ground, and dont forget to use some jack stands for safety.
Next up, lets get rid of that old transmission fluid. Find the drain plug on the transmission pan, pop it open, and let it all drain into a bucket o r something.
With the fluid out of the way, its time to take off the transmission pan. Loosen up the bolts holding it in place, and carefully pry it off. Watch out for any leftover fluid dripping around.
Alright, now you should be able to see the valve body. Its got a bunch of bolts holding it down, making it look like a puzzle. Identify those bolts, and one by one, take em off. Keep those bolts in order, dont mix em up!
Once all the bolts are out, lift that valve body gently off the transmission case. Dont mess up any internals o r gaskets while you do it.
Give the valve body a good cleaning, along with the surfaces it sits on. No one likes a dirty transmission, right?
If youre replacing the valve body, get the new one in place, and start putting those bolts back where they belong.
Time to put things back together. Reinstall the transmission pan using a fresh gasket. Then fill up the transmission with the right amount of fluid, dont overdo it!
Lower your car back down, hook up the battery again, and fire up that engine. Check if everythings running smoothly and keep an eye out for leaks.
Remember, if youre not sure about any of this stuff, dont hesitate to ask a pro. Messing with transmissions can be tricky business. Good luck, you got this!
