Need help from the mercedes experts !

guys, my bro has a C240 03, elegance pkg, lately the check engine light popped up..so after a few days it was taken to the local mercedes dealer here in toronto..who told us that the "ME control module" was not working properly and have to be replaced..basically the engine oil even though was at the right amount the computer somehow is not gettin the point..so it shuts the engine down at times..at times it doesnt..now basically the things costs $2200 not including labour..so i was wondering if u guys know what exactly this problem is cuz i wanted a second opinion and secondly is the price fair ? or should i do a cross check from either lahore shahnawaz or dubai ? if you think the price quoted is fair enough then il get it done from here...leme knw
