New Car Blues

Alhamdulilah I have got my Chevy Joy couple of days back (will post the pics soon inshallah). As it's my first zero meter car, I have certain blues about how to drive and handle it. I will appreciate advice and recommendations from PW friends.

1. What should be the gear shift speed? Currently I shift to 4th gear while after 45km/hr. Is that ok?

2. How long to continue with petrol? I was told by showroom people to use petrol for at least 1,000 kms.

3. What else I have to take care of? When to change filters, oils and fluids?

MASHALLAH, good luck with ur new ride. look in the manual of ur car, there is written everything regarding gear shifts and precautions which shuld b taken, check ur tire pressure once a week, dont let the speed go above 65 km/hr since your engine is new let it get hold of it first, keep things smooth avoid driving on stones / rocks they will shorten the life of ur tyres. avoid burnouts / drifts, always cover ur car to protect it from scratches, give ur car proper cleaning from a gas station once a month, never over load ur ride with people, get ur car inspected every month from the dealer and always use geniune parts, wax ur car once a month, always leave ur car in neutral when parked and pull the handbrake and most importantly keep all ur senses awake while driving...
