PI-GL5 instead of API-GL4 ???

PI-GL5 instead of API-GL4 ???

hello,

My cars manual recommends API GL-4 gear oil but I cant find any latest API GL4 gear oil. For example Caltex "Thuban" is API GL-5 but it states that it covers API- GL4 also.

Can I use API-GL5 oil instead API-GL4.
Can any damage occur ?

what car? how many miles on Odo?,, gear oils go long way before they need to be changed, dont change it unessarily if its a new car

chk local shops to montgomery road for hard to find oils..

or authroized dealers if its local assembled car
