Planning to change the gearbox
Standard plans to change the gearbox
Nissan Bluebird SSS 1993 2.0L
4-cylinder engine (Front Wheel Drive)
Based on the Nissan U13 Platform
Renamed Nissan Altima in the U.S.
Automaton
You might have seen this car here, my brother wanted me this car instead of selling. So before I do not want to alter this, I have some questions:
1) It has a 4-speed automatic transmission that is completely dead, so I'm actually doing a manual one instead of introducing a new automatic transmission. How easy it is to completely change the gearbox? as cars with automatic transmission with a lightweight "flex plate" that the bolt of the mechanical connection between engine and transmission provides. Switching to a manual transmission requires that the flywheel for a manual install instead of flex plate.
2) What should be done to the torque converter?
3) How do we install the clutch mechanism?

It can be done, but a much cheaper way would be to the bad transmission replaced by a second automatic transmission.
If you really want to change in a manual, you need the torque converter to remove all old gear, and installing a flwheel, pressure plate and clutch plate, the cable / hose assembly under pedal bar with three pedal assembly, and a suitable manual transmission of an Altima.
Then you might also change the ECU. I'm not sure.
Not recommended, and probably not cost effective.
