Port Auction Car: Missing Auction Sheet?
Port Auction Car: Missing Auction Sheet?
Hello there! Assalam-o-Alaikum! I heard that someones selling a port auction car at a price lower than the market rate. He says he needs cash for some payments and is even okay with accepting instalments for a year, amounting to 1/3rd of the total car value.
He claims the car is all clear, registered in excise, has a registration number, and has only been driven 5000 km in Karachi. But heres the catch, the pictures he sent show an AFR number plate. He insists its registered in excise, but the auction sheet is not available, as its an auction ki gari.
Now, should I buy the car o r not? Thats the big question. To be cautious, I should take some steps to make sure everything is legitimate and legal, and I dont fall into any scams.
From what Ive learned, the cars that owners didnt clear from the port are auctioned off to clear the space. So, I should proceed with caution. Some folks advise never buying such cars, while others say to get the chassis number and verify the auction sheet. Im a first-timer in this, so Im a bit unsure about what to do exactly.
Any helpful guidance would be much appreciated. JazakAllah.

Oh, you know, that auction sheet thingy aint related to an auctioned car, ya know? You can grab that auction sheet from various places. What I reckon is, its a car thats not clearly classified o r maybe theres some debate about it, and it got auctioned off by the port, ya see?
Now, them kinda cars dont have no issues at all, but they lack proper documentation cept for a certificate from the port. They usually sell for less than what theyre worth, and it aint easy to sell em later on.
You know why? Cause our authorities let two cars run around with almost the same papers, and that makes it tricky. So, if youre gettin a sweet deal and payin less than the market price, well, aint no harm in goin for it, mate!
