Problem with Altis Key

Salaam.

I have a 05 Altis and after a year, the original key w/ remote broke. The cover broke off and so I, after great searches, purchased a new cover, but that too has broken again. Now I am running on the spare key, but I want to use the remote too. I talked to the Toyota dealer last year and they said the only solution is change all the locks, ignition & youll get 3 new keys for abt 20 000 rs + installation. Thats obviously not an option.

What do you guys think & what have members with the same problems do?

i think the dealer is making a fool out of you coz when you buy the car you get 3 keys with it and a lock code if any prob is there you give the lock code they come up with the new key (dont know about the cover and key less entry )
you can do is the get a key ring aftermarket one and put the chip in it
