Prosmatec A/C Compressor hissing noise

Guyz I have 2002 Prosmatec but recently my A/c compressor started making hissing noise.
A/c mechanic says that I should replace the shaft and bearing of compressor.
Please advise whether to do it or not or any other recommendation??

yes it must be clutch bearing but please advise should I go for a repair or not because I have heard that once compressor is repaired the performance of A/c goes down.
Currently my A/C is as chilling as new.
