ur prosmatic has 4 gears

in D mode it works normal, all 4 gears are used as per required

in D3 mode, only first three gears are used, thrfore no 4th gear and hence ur RPM mapping becomes a bit aggressive, or like gears are changed at a bit higher rpms. this is ussualy meant for going uphill to avoid low rpm/low torque problems, or going downhill to get some gear braking.

the 2 mode is actaully a second gear. u can use it as u use it in ur manual car. once u select 2nd gear, ur initial pick will be lowered just like a manual car. this will avoid rapid accelarations like in D or D3 mode, hence reducing the chance of wheel spin. this too come handy during uphills and downhills, if u want to maintain certain speed at certian rpm during climbing or u want to use it as a normal manual car 2nd gear for gear braking during coming down. also used in mud, rain, snow to avoid wheel spin,
