A puck clutch plate will engage immediately. That is good for racing and performance. However, they are very difficult to use on a daily basis since the clutch engages abruptly and becomes hard. If this car is strictly for racing then it is ok.

Remember that once the clutch engages that hard, then the transmission will get a lot of abuse and may break along with the axles as well. I beleive it is safer to loose a clutch than to break the transmission!

If you must use a puck, then I would suggest that you get a competition pressure plate with a street use clutch.

ACT is a good company for clutches, along with Exedy.

Cheers.

Cheers.
