Questions abt cold air intake system

bros i want to know that wats the benefit of cold air intake system on petrol car, apart from acceleration, a good pick..

i've civic exi manual 2000 model, i need to have its fual economy increased, it gives me around 11 km/l with a/c in khi...
so is this ok or it may be enhanced by using cold air intake system n changing spark plugs, will this effect??

and any harm to the car...plz reply

a very efficient cold air intake would INCREASE you fuel consumption because cold air is denser and denser air woudl need more fuel so therefore you car would use more fuel.

however the most efficient system available on the open market (anywhere in the world) would offer such a small advantage that there would be NO difference on an naturally aspirated engine. however they DO offer more airflow which means that the engine doesn't have to work so hard sucking the air into the engine. the down side is that usually most of these filters are not as efficient as a paper one in terms of filtration of small particulates.

personally i find these cold air intakes useless for fuel economy, and on our weedy little engines they are pretty useless in terms of adding power too, but they look alot better.

i'd suggest you save your money and spend it on keeping your tyres correctly inflated and plugs clean.
