Rainy Day Troubles: Wheels Jamming in My Vezel 2014

I am an owner of a 2014 Vezel and I encountered an issue with it yesterday. The cars drive became very heavy and I felt like the wheels were jammed during local driving. The average fuel efficiency also ped, and I noticed a smell coming from the tires. At first, I assumed it was a brake pad issue, but Im wondering if anyone has an idea of why this could happen, as there is no error o r check light appearing on the cluster.

If you notice that your brake shoes o r pads are swelling up, you have two options. You can either take the wheel off and dry them with heat, o r you can replace them altogether.
