RPM fluctating issue
RPM fluctating issue
Hello everyone my friend just bought an infinity g20, and it has a small issue on which I'd like to get some feedback from you expert people ! The RPM consistently fluctuates. Its not stable like its supposed to be. When he starts the ignition RPM keeps fluctuating between 2 and 3. Is that a potential problem or a minor one he needs not worry about. If it is something really bad how much do you guys think it would cost him to fix it. I know it should be at about 0.9 normally wen u turn the ignition on, but his keeps fluctuating. I hope am clear with the description of the problem. Feedbacks r welcome. Please lemme know. Thanks in advanced! Take it EZ! later!

Hi bro,
Sorry to hear about the problem in ur new purchase.
Go to ur nearest Walmart/Orielly etc and get a Throttle-Body cleaner. Use it well. Would need to take out some air cleaner ducts to reach the throttle body. Clean it out. Have the engine running for a while and shut it down. Restart and see if the problem persists.
If it does - check that the O2 sensor is working properly and there r no leaks in the vaccum system
If u still have the problem, then u need to clean the MAF. I'm not sure what model yr/engine ur car has so can't tell u precisely where the MAF is located in ur vehicle.
Just google G20 engine surge problem and u'll get a hit on an Infinity forum where this and other issues will have been discussed.
Have FUN and BUCKLE UP!
