Santro Exec gear problem

Hello everyone.. I have a Santro Exec 2008.. Lately i have been experiencing issues with the gear shift (FIRST GEAR)..

It is very unsmooth and most of the times it doesnt work at the first time and i have to try two three times and sometimes go back to neutral leave the cluth and then apply it again..

other gears are working fine..

Any suggestions on what could be the problem? And how it can be rectified..

You are actually forced to 'double clutching'.

The clutch doesn't disengage properly due to:

1. Shortening of wire due to change in climate (winters).

2. Elongation due to steel relaxation.

3. Wear on the clutch plate itself.

It can be adjusted within 2 minutes by a practiced mechanic. If you don't get it adjusted the other gears will also start creating shifting problems in around 4-5000km.
