Shall I go for Manual transmission from Auto?

Salamoona brothers! again experts are required to be opined. I have 88 corolla with company's automatic transmission. I have heard with my own views too that manual trans is much better than auto regarding speed, power,engine noise ( because of 5th gear) etc, but for me consumption is of highest priority. can any expert let me know either my consumption would be increased in terms of kilometers with manual or not. if yes then would it be remarkable difference or just as negligible? keep in mind that my drive is 9/10 times in a city . thank a million all!

hello!
on what fuel you are running...if on petrol so manual can get you better than auto...but on city its like hell to drive manual...surely manual has got 5 speeds and much better ratios.....you have 88 corolla so u definately have 1.3L 2E engine...5 speed gearboxes for that engine are available like nothing...pretty much easy to find in shershah...so if you wanna convert..surely get it.....but on karachi city drive....its better to have auto.....
