Should I Buy a New Bike Now in This Economy?

Hello everyone,

I travel approximately 30-35km daily in Karachi and I am seeking a comfortable mode of transportation, given the current road conditions. However, considering the current economic situation, I am unsure whether purchasing a bike is a wise decision.

I have narrowed down my options to the following bikes:

• CB150F
• GR150
• YBR125G

Although all three options seem viable, I have a special affinity towards the first one.

In my experience, Ive had the chance to drive all kinds of bikes and they are all fantastic. If youre considering buying an old bike, take your time and make sure to check all your options. I recommend following these checklists, if possible:

• Look for a bike with less than 10,000 KM
• Make sure the owner has maintained it properly
• Dont buy a bike older than 2021

By following these guidelines, youll save yourself a lot of potential problems down the line.

In my opinion, the YBR125G is a great choice and I suggest using Liqui Moly Engine Oil. You can travel throughout the day on just 600-700mL petrol even in heavy traffic conditions. The GR150, on the other hand, is more expensive to maintain and not as economical. Although the Honda CB150F has a great ride, its heavy and difficult to navigate through traffic. The engine can also overheat in hot months, and the fuel economy is lower, around 30-32Km/ltr at an average of 60KM/ltr and worse in traffic. Overall, I highly recommend the YBR 125G for its comfort, maintenance, and economy.
