Smoking Engine

Smoking Engine

i have Cuore 2003. during driving its timing belt was broken and valves were bent. i installed new valves and head gasket.
now it start consuming oil. once it short one plug, i place adopter on that spark plug and now it does not shorted again.
sometimes it smoke that is visible from back mirror and sometimes it appears that it is not smoking any more.
i have checked to many mechanics and they said that the piston rings should be replaced.
my question is it ok if i continue to use this engine without rebuilding but maintaining its oil level or i must rebuild it as soon as possible?
currently i do not finding any problem during driving, engine starting is ok.
