aoa................i am a big fan of cars.............but dont know anything abt engines!!!

i have some questions...............if anyone can answer them!!!

1. Whats a cylinder????? like V6, V8, Inline 3 etc!!!!
2. What Horse Power??
3. Whats Brake Horse Power??
4. Whats engine displacement????????

plz dont laugh...........these r basic questions.........but still i dont know!!!!

a cylinder is the part of the engine which contains the pistons
in the a v6 they r 6 cylinders and the are divided into to sides like a V they are 3 cylinders on one side and 3 on the other and an inline3 means that they r 3 cylinders which are in a line not in a V pattern
the term horse power is used to know about the power of a car
and brake horse power means the horse power which is produced originally by the engine without any waste of power
