Strut bars

whats the purpose of strut bars? would they put a positive or a negative affect on the car?

if strut bars are those which we offen see inmodififed cars over the engine connecting both shocks, than those are to restrict movement of shocks wrt to each other, they are supposed to improve handling by 19/20
