Suddenly the engine stopped

hi to all.im new in this forum.
i have daewoo nexia 1.5 sohc ,i have problem .
today i was driving my car and ,and suddenly the engine stopped, and all the lights on the dash board was turned off, then when I put the key on position 2, all lights on the dash board were off, but when I start the engine ,the engine was running with high revs and power button was on.
Then i switch off the engine.
After 5 min.i start the engine and everithing was ok.
What can occurs that.

Im not an expert, but most probably seems like battery problem.
Get your battery and battery connections checked.

It might happen that you were running on low rpms and generator connected to the engine is not producing enough electricity. Why the engine turned off, not sure but that is one reason i can think of.
