Toyota Aqua In-Car Entertainment System

Toyota Aqua In-Car Entertainment System

Assalamu Alaikum,

I have a Toyota Aqua 2013 model equipped with an NSZT-W62 Multi AV Station. The system is in Japanese, and it doesn’t have an SD card. While the radio works, I’m unable to access Bluetooth o r other settings.

Can someone guide me on how to make the system fully functional? Also, I’ve come across the term ERC number – could someone explain what it is and its significance?

Looking forward to your suggestions and advice.

JazakAllah!

Wa Alaikum Assalam,

The NSZT-W62 is a Japanese domestic market JDM system, and unfortunately, its language cannot be changed from Japanese to English due to software limitations. Since the SD card is missing, several features like navigation and possibly Bluetooth may not function. The SD card is essential for these functionalities, and without it, the system may operate in a limited mode. You would need to purchase a compatible SD card, which can be sourced through Toyota dealers in Japan o r specialized aftermarket providers.

Bluetooth and other settings might be inaccessible without the SD card. If you obtain a replacement, ensure it matches the NSZT-W62 model to restore functionality. Alternatively, you could consider an external device like a Bluetooth transmitter o r replace the NSZT-W62 with a modern multimedia system that supports English, CarPlay, o r Android Auto.

The ERC number, o r Electronic Registration Code, is a security feature for these systems. It is required to unlock the unit if it has been reset o r moved to a different vehicle. To obtain the ERC, you would typically need to contact a Toyota dealer in Japan with the units serial number and proof of ownership. Third-party services also offer ERC decoding, but use them cautiously.

If you decide to keep the current system, acquiring a compatible SD card and retrieving the ERC code is necessary. However, replacing the unit with a modern multimedia system may be a more practical and user-friendly option, offering updated features and eliminating language barriers.

JazakAllah Khair!
