Turbocharging 4AFE.....!
Turbocharging 4AFE.....!
Hello!
well i am just thinking that day about turbocharging 4AFE....!
how it can be.......!
Well HONDA Freaks Turbocharge D15's and D16's.....and got pretty good response....!
as D series is SOHC 16v having almost same CR's as of 4AFE......!
so why can't be 4A-FE turbocharged......!
i know internals are not for it and block is also not as strong made...but it can be used for making some good power outta it....!
well i know that for turbo-charging.....CR's have to be lowered but i think we can run it all stock on Low Boost like around 6-7 Psi....or maybe some more....!
what you say....! well i think there are more things need to be changed when you turbo-charge any engine....!
i think 4EFTE CT-9 or bigger CT-12 works best for it......!
what you say..!
Fueling Need to be increased..!
change in MAP readups..( i think)
so ppl who have experienced turbo-charging N/A motor can post their views...! all replies are welcomes
Its gonna be interesting discussion...!

think ,,aluminum block before you think further, rest should make sense to you that Toyota has done all the thinking for you already.

if hyou only need to run 6-7psi and HAVE to have forced inductino why MUST you choose a turbo? why not a supercharger?
BTW saab has dont many light pressure turbo applications in their model range, it just makes the small engine feel about an extra 3-500cc larger without any serious stress to the motor, which is pretty good for daily driving.
