Urgent help regarding engine

Salam to everyone, i have khyber 98 and its cooling system was not so good, on friday, during traffic jam it was heated up and i switched it off and changed the water of radiator as radiator jaali is rusted and cannot be cleaned, but when i reached home i had to goto mechanic who advised me to get my car's engine head opened and change the gaskets and engine valves so i did the same, but when i reached to take the car he told me that your engine's bore was cut and engine is weak from inside. brothers i am upset after listening to his comments , let me tell you that my car's engine gives very healthy sound, no smoke at anytime and no oil drinking as well, and the mechanic is also a good man , what should i do as i have my engine head repaired and now performaning well. i am anxiously waiting for any help in decission making.thanx and regards

i personaly dont think its safe to drive on like this at least i wouldnt .. and i think you should rebuild your existing engine if it is your guniune engine because in this case engine swap will actually lower the resale price of your car but if its already replaced than i would suggest a block change, and try to find a block for the same engine as your existing valve cover and valves among other things can be reused ... other wise whole lota other things will pop out if you chose a different engine even if engine bay work is not required.
