Vitz Air Intake Query

If i was to install a Cold Air Intake to the Vitz, Should i connect the intake piping to the Air box or is it ok if i connect it directly to the throttle body thing..??? Isnt there like a temprature or pressure gauge inside the air box that lets the ECU know the density and the amount of air coming in ?? so is it ok if i connect it directly or should it go through the air box???

my cousin in khi had the same query, i saw updated vitz picture of PW member khurram .. i sent the pic to my cousin and he installed the intake accordingly .. rest i know nothing
