VVT-i and I-Vtec

VVT-i and I-Vtec

No offense intended here. Nothing personal against any vtec fans. Just curious about something. Vtec engines are definitely more technologically advanced than VVT-i's. So my question is what's the actual benefit that you get from a vtec that you won't from a vvt-i ? More power ? Fuel saving ? cause from the figures that i see it's almost the same ? both of em ?

This is not a honda vs toyota topic so please just give good reasoning without dissing any company ! (a)

U came up with very good post.

Actually it depends on the driving style aswell.

What i think VVT-i is some what parallel to VTEC and VVTL-i can be parallely treated with i-VTEC.

Honda claims that i-VTEC has got more economy than ordinary VTEC. Like they claim that if u drive 1.8L CiViC in low REVS then it would give u the milage equivalent to 1.5L car. One member on PW also claims to achieve 15km/L on CiViC i-VTEC. Don't remember exactly who he is .And on the other hand it can able to generate horses parallel to 2.0L car when putting it in HIGH REVS.

And may be same is the case with VVT-i & VVTL-i of TOYOTA.
