Water decarburization

Water decarburization

I heard that your cylinder clean by sucking water slowly through a vacuum hose while the engine is running. (2000 to 3000 rpm)

Has anyone tried this? Some other forums on this subject seem to demand miracles.

The general theory is that the "steam clean" your cylinders and get all of them carbon gunk.

I'd be cautious if I were you. Water can "steam clean" your engine (and in test engines using water injection, it works), but the danger of putting too much water is there. You can bend a rod (by hydrolocking) or seize your engine (by destroying the oil film on the cylinders) if you put too much water in.

And in any case, the things that you can decarbonize would be the piston crown, the valve faces and the combustion chamber, not the cylinder, as it's already cleaned by the rings on every stroke.

Cheers!
