Wats "V" arrangement?supercharged?turbocharged?

hi pals
i just want to know that i hav seen carz wid V8 or V12 badge.i know in dese,the cylinders r mounted in "V " shape,but wats da advantage?y r dey mounted in this shape?
secondly,wats superchanger nd turbocharger?im amature to carz nd dont know abt these terms......

- "v"shape to reduce the length of engine, plus getting the mechanical parts of engine closer to eachother to reduce extra force required.
-forced induction from fresh air into engine =supercharged
-forced induction from exhaust of engine= turbocharged
